WELCOME to the 2005 Liverpool International Street Festival. This year Brouhaha International presents new performance work from around the world.
This year our international companies have created new work which compliments our cities annual theme of ’the sea’. For three weeks our streets, theatres, parks and public spaces will see dancers, acrobats, musicians, and stilt-walkers from Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, the Far East and Latin America.
2005 marks the first stage in ’Crossing Waters,’ Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, our 2005 - 2007 carnival trilogy. We have collaborated with many communities and groups in order to bring you the UK’s largest carnival section with over 1500 local costumed participants and 200 international performers.
The festival creates platforms for international performance projects, local community tours and cultural collaborations that bring people together, foster mutual respect and encourage a greater degree of understanding and insight into our city’s multicultural landscape.
So please join us in celebrating the uniqueness of our City’s diverse culture, and the richness of our community’s heritage.
